Dongsheng Wang

Founder and Chairman of BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd

Mr. WangDongsheng, founder of BOE and now he serves as Chairman of BOE Technology GroupCo., Ltd. He is a financial expert and also a systems engineering specialist. He has a degree of Master of Engineering. He also serves as Vice President of ChinaOptics and Optoelectronics Manufacturers Association (COEMA), President of LiquidCrystal Branch of China Optics and Optoelectronics Manufacturers Association(COEMA LCB), Chairman of Beijing Electronic Chamber of Commerce (BECC), etc. Hehad won “China’s Top Ten Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) People”, “China’sInformation Industry Leaders of the Year” and other awards.

Mr. Wang Dongsheng founded BOE in 1993, which has grown into a leading company in the global display industry under his excellent leadership. BOE’s development has also pushed forward Chinese LCD industry from zero to hero, becoming an important pole in the global semiconductor display industry. Mr. Wang Dongsheng is also known as "Father of Chinese Display Industry" by the industry.

Mr. Wang Dongsheng first introduced the concept of “semiconductor display industry” in the global industry. He defined an umbrella term "semiconductor display" for TFT-LCD, AMOLED, micro-display and other new display technologies, whose basic technologies all belong to semiconductor technologies. His ideas are of practical significance in promoting the development of the industry.

Mr. Wang Dongshengput forward the “Survival Law” for the display industry, stating that panel performancemetrics must at least be doubled every 36 months for a given price point. Thiscycle is getting shorter. This theory has been recognized as "Wang'sLaw" by the industry.

He also proposed“5P1H” to indicate the direction of display productinnovation. “5P” includes Picture, providing best-quality pictures; Power, increasingly power-efficient; Panel as System & Service; Pilot of Fashion;and best Price. “1H” means display products should be good to people's Health.

In the IoT era, Mr.Wang Dongsheng proposed an IoT ecological concept of “Open up technology andapplication platforms to create value through ICPST” (ICPST: Integration ofChips, Panels, Software and Things”, advocating to open up application andtechnology platforms and to join hands with industry partners to innovate andachieve win-win.
